The former president's Granddaughter Receives Expert Guidance from Golf Legend Woods Before Professional Golf First Appearance
The rising star boasts considerable online audience
Kai Trump can count on multiple well-known supporters when she makes her professional golf debut this Thursday.
This teenage golfer, who happens to be related to Donald Trump, received a special exemption to participate at the Annika tournament in Florida.
Her grandfather, an avid golfer, operates numerous golf courses and frequently matches against Kai.
"He's pretty good. I shouldn't elaborate but we play some close matches," she stated.
She mentioned that her grandfather, who cannot attend, told her: "Just don't get nervous."
"He essentially advised me to go out there and enjoy myself," she continued.
"To me, he's simply an ordinary family member. He can't make it for the tournament. He's focused on presidential duties, so he's quite busy."
Being non-professional, Kai has played in only three events in 2024 and holds ranking 461 in AJGA rankings.
Yet she's able to get advice from golf legend, who is dating Kai's mother.
"He represents the top athlete globally," the young golfer said.
"Additionally, he's a superior individual. He advised me to go out there, have fun, adapting to whatever happens."
The golfer will compete against multiple most prominent players in women's golf at the Annika, such as second-ranked Nelly Korda, England's Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
Tournament organizers commented that her participation helps introduce golf to wider groups, particularly among younger fans.
Kai has substantial online presence and has started her own apparel and wellness company.
Her first tee time at 5:30 PM GMT.
