Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

The comedian

Acclaimed writer for children and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

A representative for the firm said: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding reports of questionable actions directed at young women.

The company did not confirm the motivations for this action, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold more than 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles combined, including a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

From Screen to Page

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
